This page tells you everything you need to know about the Master's programme in Economic Education – from a brief overview of the programme structure to the requirements for admission and the selection procedure.

Please note: this programme provides education for teaching profession in vocational colleges in Germany. Therefore, most of the courses in this programme are in German language.

Essentially, there are two branches of study in the Master of Education programme:

  1. Economic Education/Vocational School Teacher Training I – in which students specialise in Economic Science + their teaching subject
  2. Economic Education/Vocational School Teacher Training II – Economic Science for teaching in colleges or working in companies (*students who graduate in Economic Education/Vocational School Teacher Training II to work in a company are awarded the academic degree of Master of Science)

Information for applicants

Applications for the Master of Education are only accepted for the fall term and must be submitted via the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL) application portal. Further information on how to apply for a Master of Education programme can be found here. The application deadline is usually 15 July of the year in which the programme begins.
